Where do I start?
I lost my best friend, Lisa my treasured GSD in January 2013, this left a big gap in our home and despite having another couple dogs keeping us busy. Having previously rescued all our dogs, this time we wanted to find the correct puppy for our home and especially our young granddaughter. Looking around a few different websites I was concerned that I was not getting that happy feeling and with not wanting to rush into things looked around a further. We were eventually given the details of Irene and Neil by a friend who had not long received a Skipmyre pup.
Viewing the website full of gorgeous dogs and then the initial contact, we were sure we had found the right breeder. Irenes professionalism and dedication to her dogs is astounding, she is a credit to the profession. Speaking to others who had received pups from elsewhere, nothing seemed adeqquate compared to what Skipmyre offered us. Even simple things such as playing CD’s of hoovers, fireworks etc to the pups to get them accustomed to the outside world is terrific and makes an amazing difference to your dog as it grows.
We spent a long time looking around, but finally found the perfect breeder. We had to go onto a waiting list, to ensure we received a Skipmyre pup, that in itself should be testimony. Almost 12 months later we have the most beautiful addition to our family Celyn, our new German Shepherd…. and if I get my way …. I’ll be back before too long.
Thanks Irene and Neil for everything. Regards,Gethyn & Trish.

Hi Irene I'd just like to say All your dogs are absolutely stunning.. .both of you must be very proud of every single one of them, young and old... We've had our Max now since the end of January and he is a fantastic dog, he's just turned 4 months old, he's a great character, up to no good and mischief most of the time but we wouldn't have him any other way... hes an absolute stunning looking dog, like all your dogs, and we consider ourselves very very lucky we came across your website more than a year ago...As well as producing the most gorgeous dogs ever you have also made a lot of familys extremely happy...We feel very privileged to have Max in our family and we can't thank you enough
loads of love

Hi Irene and Neil
After having our Saxon since the end of January, it is past time that i added my comments to your brilliant website's guestbook.
We lost our previous shepherd suddenly at the end of last year, after careful consideration we decided to try and find a new family companion. Trawling through numerous breeder's website's it was with great pleasure to find the Skipmyre site and what a site.Instantly i was impressed by the stunning dogs and indeed pups and visited the site many times. I made contact with Irene late last year with the view to being added to her waiting list for a future pup, after careful consideration by Irene this duly happened. Much to my surprise i was contacted by Irene later in January to ask whether i would be interested in a pup from her current litter,i jumped at the chance to own a gorgeous Skipmyre pup. We met Saxon on the Sat and collected him on the Thurs, this i must add is not Irene's usual process but because of her and Niel's professionalism and dedication to their dogs and indeed their pups was not a concern to me as the process was also to find out whether i was a suitable future owner for one of her beloved pups.
After the last 12 weeks or so i am not at all dissapointed, Saxon is a stunning boy, with a fantastic temprement, full of mischief just as a pup should be and i consider myself very priviledged and honoured to be a very proud Skipmyre gsd.
Thanyou Irene and Neil for the great pleasure Saxon has brought to our family and look forward to seeing the regular website updates... Regards Jim and Lynne

Dear Irene, Neil and the Furry Gang
We would like to thank you once again for our beutiful and perfect Kiara our second GSD from the fantastic Skipmyre.
Both Kiara and our first Girl Nala have been the best addition to our family and both have taken to our daughter Rebecca (8) as if they have been together for years. They are both the most gentle with her. We have hours of fun at the shore and walks in the country and no mater who we meet, they all have a lovely word to say about the two girls. Their temperment is first class and have never shown any aggression towards any other dogs but always want to go and play. Full of mischief and fun they always put a smile on your face, and are loyal and loving beyond words.
As for you both Irene and Neil, you are always at the end of the phone or e-mail/facebook to help or guide us owners with any questions we may have. For that we thank you so much as that experience that you share is something that money could not buy.
We wish you you all the very best and we will continue to bombard you with pictures of antics and poses.
Thanks you so much once again.
Pamela, Stevie and Rebecca

Dear Irene & Neil
We lost our very much loved solid black GSD, Akima, in early September, just a week after her 13th birthday. We were absolutely devastated and she left a massive void in our lives.
I was aware of Skipmyre GSDs as I met one of your wonderful pups, Zara, at the obedience classes I help out at. She is an absolutely stunning dog and I visited your website and viewed pictures of your beautiful dogs & read the amazing testimonials.
A short time after losing Akima I contacted you & was delighted to be put on your waiting list for a puppy, conscious of the fact that I would have a fairly long wait. You cannot imagine my delight when you contacted me asking if I would like to be considered for one of Ava's huge litter. NeedIess to say I jumped at the chance. I had not anticipated having a pup this quickly but when we travelled the 250 miles to Dumfries to meet our pup we were beside ourselves with excitement. Little did we know when we gave our wee black bundle of fluff the name Ace how well this would suit him. He is as black as the Ace of Spades but he is also Ace in every other sense of the word. He is absolutely the best! He has now been with us for 6 weeks and when he is not being a wee monster, he has the most wonderful gentle nature you can could ever wish for. I have to say the wee monster in his personality is equally as adorable.
It has been an absolute pleasure meeting yourself & Neil and your dogs are a credit to you both. I have loved hearing how the rest of the pups are doing on Facebook & it has been wonderful to be in contact with you regularly. It is heartwarming to see that you take such a keen interest in the progress of all of your litters.
Words cannot express how grateful we are to you both for our gorgeous Ace & we will keep bombarding you with photos of his progress.
Wishing you all the very best for the future.
Kindest regards
Shona, Ian, Lindsay, Laura, Riley & Ace xxx

Hi Irene and Neil. I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the wonderful puppy we have. Kaiser has been amazing and has brought many hours of fun in our house. You have socialised the pups amazingly well, we have just had a party with lots of guests and Kaiser has impressed us and surprised everyone else! He was chilled, curious, lively and friendly, what a great job you have done! He is also very intelligent and loves our training sessions in the house and in the garden. I can't wait to take him to the puppy training class for the first time next Sunday to show him off to the world!! 😍

Hi Irene, 2017. 04. 17

We just wanted to say a big thank you for our lovely Dayna, she has been well worth the wait, we cannot fault her, not only is she the best looking pup we have ever seen, (honest, we are not at all biased!), but she is very sweet natured, learns very quickly, and is not faised by anything, every new thing she encounters she takes in her stride. To anyone out there who is looking for a gsd to share their home, if you are wanting a truly reliable, well mannered dog that you can take anywhere, who will fit in to your family and be a joy to own, and to top it all, are absolutely stunning to look at, then put your name down for one of Irene and Neil's Skipmyre puppies, you may have a bit of a wait, but trust me, they are well worth the wait.
As and when we have room, we will certainly be back to put our name on the waiting list.
Thank you both for our special girl.

Kindest regards

Jackie and Graham

Dear Irene & Neil, 2017. 05. 13
We just wanted to say a massive thank you for our beautiful boy Kai. What can we say about our boy..... He is just perfect in every way! He is the most handsome boy ever! We get stopped wherever we go with people commenting on how wonderful he is. Kai is well behaved, perfect with people and other dogs. He just wants to be everyone's friend. Nothing bothers Kai, we have been walking with Kai now off the lead for a few weeks, he is 16 weeks old and he walks with us perfectly! Like I say you couldn't ask for a better behaved puppy. Kai has made a huge difference to our lives, every day, every minute he makes us smile!
Irene, Thank you for always being there, on the end of the phone or email if we have ever been unsure of things, you truly are one in a million.
If there is anyone out there who is looking for a puppy who is stunning, well behaved, is a privilege to take anywhere and who will make your heart burst with pride... please look no further than Irene and Neil at Skipmyre GSD! they will be with you every step of the way.
Thank you again for our very special boy, and for a friendship that we will cherish.
Hopefully, we will be back in a couple of years to put our name down again for another one of your beautiful puppies, a brother for Kai!
With love from
Lisa & Steve

Hi Irene and Neil, 2017.05.30
Leia has settled in amazing with us. She is perfection. A huge thank you to you both for all the hard work you put into all your dogs. It really does show. Anyone thinking of getting a puppy should look no further. But do not take the decision lightly, if you are not willing to give your dog 100% commitment then Granny simply wont let it happen. The amount of people who comment on how calm and well behaved she is, right from day one, people always stopping us in the street to say hi to her, strangers stopping in their cars, people who I know have had GSD's in the past saying comments like 'she is the most stunning dog I have ever seen, absolutely beautiful'. We totally agree! Leia is know 5 months old, growing and learning so fast. She has a great temperament, such a loyal loving dog. Absolutely no issues with chewing furniture, we've always kept her amused with toys that she can chew. Toilet training was so easy due to the good habits she already learned from you guys, within 3 hours she was heading for the back door. Our 15 year old cat has slowly got used to her, they're not best friends but co-exist with no issues. Her training is coming along nicely, she gets on with all dogs, so friendly. Loves meeting new people. She experienced her first thunder storm the other day and remained nice and calm, didn't bother her in the slightest. Leia has brought so much happiness to our lives, we are very honored to have on of Ava's lovely puppies. Thank you both so much for the wonderful dog.
Best Wishes.... David and Mandy.
