Hello I have just been looking at all the fabulous photos of all the pups and Merlin reminds me of my Taz who I lost in May this year. It broke my heart when he was put to sleep due to an illness that could not be cured. I have great memories of our beloved GSD who is missed by all the family and hopefully I will be one of these names that will be put on the waiting list, we have got alot of love to give to a new puppy, my boys were heartbroken when we lost Taz ( our tazzie babe) fingers crossed that we will be smiling with happiness again Thankyou so much for all the lovely photos of all you dogs and their puppies.xx

Hi, we came across Skipmyre's webpage shortly after we said goodbye to our 9yr old GSD Toby, the loss was awful as he was such a part of our family; and we made up our minds that we had to get another dog (our house was too quiet without one, despite having children!!).
From the start Irene was great and her knowledge of the GSD breed is amazing, Marek spoke to Irene and asked if we could be put on a waiting list for a pup. The next bit, is the bit I find truly worthwhile - Irene asked if we could email her photos of our previous dog Toby which showed how he was part of our lives - Irene wasn't going to hand over a pup without doing some background work first.
As luck and fate would have it we were lucky to get a pupy from Tia and Woody's litter, and we are now the very proud owners of Woody Jnr! He is an amazing dog and for 9 weeks old he is already very bright and intelligent; Woody takes everything in his stride and isn't fazed by anything.
He has put in an appearance at the school gates and he was most definitely very popular, he was spoilt rotten with hugs, pats, cuddles and extra care was taken to NOT TOUCH THE EARS, lol!!
As part of Halloween celebrations our house was visited by lots of children and adults, keen for sweets but even keener to see Woody Jnr - he's so placid that he fell asleep after a while and the noise and constant coming and going of people didn't bother him!
He's an absolutely gorgeous looking dog and many people have already commented on this "he's a big, fluffy teddy bear" is the most common response. Irene and Neil made us feel so welcome when we visited them and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone who is considering getting a dog from them.
It has to be said too, that the after care from Irene is fantastic - any question, no more matter how small is answered and her love for her/our pups is evident. Thank you Irene and Neil, xxx

getting a dog was a decision not taken lightly, my son has autism and i had done so much research into what type of dog would be suitable for a family with 2 children and to find a dog with the right protectivness and caring to be around children, when i decided upon a german sheperd i then fell upon irene and neils website and straight away i called and i think it was fate because we were able to go on the list for 1 of tia's pups we travelled all the way from munlochy in the highlands, a loooong drive, to pick our beautiful kayla (miss pink) and from day 1 she's been part of the family, i think what impressed me so much is the level of irene and neil's caring for they're dogs and pups, they wont just let anyone have one of these precious babies and i dont blame them, they are they're for any advice and i think its due to the surroundings these pups were born into that makes them such amazing pups, thanks to irene's start kayla has been going to bed at 10pm and thats her till morning (much better than the kids!!!!) and everywhere we go all i hear is "what a beautiful puppy" and "isnt she so calm" all i will say is if you are looking for a german sheperd and you come upon this website put your name on the waiting list and wait for as long as it takes to get a skipmyre puppy you wont get better or more beautiful anywhere else. thank you irene and neil (and tia and woody) for our beautiful kayla its made aaron and lara's lives so much sunnier!!!!!!

Hi Irene and Neil (two of the hardest working and most caring folks we have met). After five long years since our German Shepherd, Elsa, died; we decided the time was right to welcome a new pup into our home. By chance my wife bumped into a couple on holiday with their dogs and they pointed us in the right direction . . . the rest is history. Kimba settled in straight away, no sounds bothered her, thanks to the time taken during her first 7 weeks getting the pups accustomed to everyday household noises. By the fourth day her EARS were straight up as she picked up all the new sounds of birds, geese, seagulls etc! It was worth the effort to carry her to various locations, so that she was able to take on board new experiences prior to being able to go walkies after her jabs. At the moment Kimba is resting at the side of my chair, with her many toys around her, just watching me finishing off this testimonial. And of course being such a clever girl, sends her love to all at Skypmyre. Pauline, Ron and Kimba XXXXX

Who knew that when our 11 yr old GSD Sal passed away in Feb this year what lay ahead for my wife and I and our 3yr old GSD Bracken we were heart broken and didnt know were to turn. Then in a conversation someone mentioned Skipmyre I looked at the web site and left a wee comment.. And then a wonderful lady called Irene contacted us offered support and kind words and with an open offer to visit her Neil and the gang no pressure just when we were ready. From that first visit a beautiful and long lasting friendship has developed and we now count Irene & Neil as very good friends. They truely are very enthusiastic and caring breeders but equally they are wonderful caring people, and there dogs are a credit to them..Today we picked up Keeva who has made great friends with Bracken already and bought a wee twinkle back into our eyes.........
So if your lucky enough to be chosen for a Skipmyre puppy and can wrestle one from Irenes arms then do but remember DONT TOUCH THE EARS !!!
Irene & Neil god bless xxxx

Kind Regards

I lost my german shepherd bitch Skye very suddenly in February, and it completely devastated us, I never thought I would ever be able to replace her as she was so clever and had the best nature ever of any dog.
I was recommended to your website by a friend and I cant believe how beautiful your dogs and puppies are!!
As your dogs are bred for temperament, I think I've found the place to get my next puppy!!
Would it be ok to put in an interest in future for a bitch puppy?
Sincerely
Irene Crooks

Hi I have just come across your website and cant believe I have never saw it before your dogs are adorable. I have began looking for another pup, I recently lost my boy to a liver tumour. He was 5 years old and the apple of my eye to say I was devasted is an understatement. My lovely Kelsie is 7 yrs and missing her buddy greatly. I would like to register my interest in your next litter, I am looking for a bitch pup to join our family thanks Karen

Hi Carol,
Thank you for your kind comments, if you would like to email me you will find the details on Contact/Guest book page, i will get back to you.
I would just like to say I have just had a look at your webpage, and would like to say what stunning German Shepherds you breed.
Myself and husband have spoke of maybe one day getting another German Shepherd, so we have (maybe that should be I) looking, and as I have said your dogs are stunning. So will keep a note of your kennels, as to when we are ready, we will get intouch, the only thing is you don't mention what you charge for your pups, I would be grateful if you could let me know.
Thanks.
Regards,
Carol Boyne.

Hi,
After much consideration, we decided to purchase a German Shepherd Pup for our 9 yrear old son's birthday!! We came across Skipmyres Website and contacted Irene the breeder who I linked with right away and who came across as being totally devoted to her dogs and their offspring. I liked what I was hearing and asked about noting interest in one of Cassies Pups. I have to admit I was a little perturbed to be told that if I were lucky enough to get one of Cassies pups I was " The Last" person on the list, therefore, everyone before me would get to choose the pup of their choice an I would have to take whoever was left! Well,,, , Irene and I had quite a bit of good humoured banter about this,,, however, to her credit, she was also keeping 2 of the pups, but allowing everyone else to pick before her, such was her faith in the good breeding of this litter!! So, at the appointed time, we met our Maxi, and what a cracker he was!! After only 1 week with us ,he can do every important command required to control a dog, and he does it with 100% eagerness!! Our friends have been astounded at what he has learnt in so so short a time . The intellect shines through this pups eyes!! He is truly impressive!! So, for those of you who are Last on List, I wouldn't worry , you will not be disappointed!! Perhaps your only concern would be when you are tryng to prise your pup from Irene's arms!! I would suggest you make a quick getaway at that point, and forsake Neils offer of a lovely cuppa , in case she changes her mind!! To put it in a nutshell, Irene and Neil are genuine and good people , who are utterly devoted to their dogs and the wellfare of their offspring and I believe will offer all the help and advice you may need in the life of your dog.
Thank You Irene & Neil for our Maxi Boy
Ps : I didnt mention how utterly gorgeous Maxi is too!!

Dear Irene and Neil and all the ever growing Skipmyre gang! We just wanted to write to say how wonderful Myrtle is. She is without doubt the best thing that we have ever done - we just love her to pieces. And that is in large part because of the superb care you gave her when she was a little pup (she is not so little now at 27 inches and still growing!). We could not have asked for a better start for her - completely unfazed by hoovers, thunder, fireworks etc (although the chickens were a bit scary until she realised they were chaseable!). The support you have given us throughout has been wonderful too - the emails, the phone calls, the photos. Myrtle is one big cuddly teddy bear who likes nothing better than to wallow in the swampiest water she can find. We can't wait to see you again in June so you can see how much she has changed! With very best wishes, Dan and Emma and Myrtle and Maggie xxx

Having lost my German Sheperd bitch in Aug'10 i have been thinking about getting another dog as company for my X-breed rescue dog that I have but having spent a long time looking at and thinking about other breeds I keep coming back to GSD as I haven't been without one in my life since I was about 10 years old and I am now 33.
I would be interested in your pups as I am looking for a well socialised straight backed GSD who would enjoy my obedience classes I attend every Tues and I have also started agility last year and would love for once my puppy is old enough they can join in with this too as I didn't get to experience agility with my Niesha.
Would love to visit as your dogs and pups look amazing and the kennel club acredited breeders mark puts my mind at ease.
Thanks Fiona

Hi
Just looked at your website following the loss of my own lovely GSD Nina. Some how it feels too soon but also feel that I would like another one. I like the fact that you breed the traditional straight back shepherds and I would be interested in one of your pups when the time is right perhaps. I would also consider a dog of about 4-6mths as well.
Anyway I enjoyed looking.

hi there, i havebeen looking through your website and am interested in your new litter for spring 2011, your knowledge and experience is wide and is fully commendable. we lost our german shepherd to cancer 6 months ago, following chats with the family we feel the time is right to consider the possibility of getting another, some time this year. we have looked at the possibilty of other breeds of dog but are always drawn back to the GSD. when do you think you would have pups available this year and would it be possible to arrange for me and my family to visit? look forward to your reply, many thanks Stephen McCreadie
A massive thanks from both Tina and I for you letting us have Harvey! ( dark Blue )
All the ligths have be re-lit in our lives with Harvey's home coming.
He is the most delicious creature on the planet!
A total credit to you at Skipmyre for preparing him sowell for his new life.
From moment one he has been full of life , confidence and love something I clearly got from you Irene from when we first spoke on the phone .
Tia , you and Neil have done a brilliant job and we are loving every minute with him.
We will see you in a few weeks

Ps : Lets not forget Woody for being that perfect mate to Tia resulting in all those beautiful and healthy puppies!

Hi Irene & Neil - Brynn is absolutely wonderful. He is getting on well with Kyle and the six cats, just loves to play, eat and sleep. Even though he has only been here a week he is now virtually trained to a puppy pad. We have had Shepherds continually for the last 35 years and it is true to say that you are the most dedicated breeders we have come across. It was so obvious that your main concern was for the welfare of the dogs and that you were not just 'in it for the money'. As you know we will keep you regularly up to date on his progress with phone calls and photos. We are sure Tia and Woody will be proud of him but mostly he is a credit to the both of you for the amount of care and love you clearly gave him in his first few weeks. Hope to see the both of you soon. Love to all at Skipmyre. Jackie & Mike

Hi Irene
Just to let you know that Tao has settled really well. You have done a fantastic job with her she is completely unfazed by anything - car trip, ferry crossing, numerous people wanting to talk to her. Visited the vet today he was very impressed by her quiet tempermant and good looks.
She is a testament to your hard work and dedication and a very clever wee thing. We are going to thoroughly enjoy her and will definately reccommend you to anybody looking for a German Shepherd.
Will keep the photos coming.
Cheers and thanks again

Hi,
Have just accidentally come across your wonderful website and, although I live in Dumfries, must admit I had not heard of you until now. Where are you in Dumfries?
I have two long-coated GSD's, my big 5 year old boy looks amazingly like 'Woody'. I also have a 7 month old pup whom I rescued (after having to part with a lot of money) from a bad home a month ago and, having had no vaccs. at the time of my taking him, is only now beginning to explore the big wide world.
If it's of any interest I also run a taxi company in Dumfries called K9 Cabs and, although I am a licensed hackney taxi and sometimes work from the taxi rank in town, I specialise in transporting dogs (and their owners) more or less anytime, anyplace, anywhere.
Be nice to hear from you and even nicer if I was able to come and see your dogs.

Hi. Thought i'd drop by and say what a fantastic site. Gorgeous dogs and by previous comments left - aftercare is second to none. Love the pics of both puppies and as they progress through to adulthood. Linda.
Just a we message to say a HUGE THANK YOU !! Picked our boy up today and he's been such a little gem, he has settled much quicker than we thought and Tina our collie just adores him. Irene and Neil you have been fantastic with advice etc right from the minute we contacted you's and keeping us updated all the time with pictures and emails and answering all our questions etc. We will definitley keep in touch and send you lots of pics of Maverick growing up and come down and visit to. Speak to you's both soon, lots of love Charlene, Scott, and Maverick xxx

Hi Irene,
I lost my german shepherd bitch Skye very suddenly in February, and it completely devastated us, I never thought I would ever be able to replace her as she was so clever and had the best nature ever of any dog.
Hi Karen,
Thank you for your kind comments. I am sorry to here of your loss ! could you please email or phone me with your details to register interest in next years litter.
Thank you
Irene
Hi I have just come across your website and cant believe I have never saw it before your dogs are adorable. I have began looking for another pup, I recently lost my boy to a liver tumour. He was 5 years old and the apple of my eye to say I was devasted is an understatement. My lovely Kelsie is 7 yrs and missing her buddy greatly. I would like to register my interest in your next litter, I am looking for a bitch pup to join our family thanks Karen
Hi Carol,
Thank you for your kind comments, if you would like to email me you will find the details on Contact/Guest book page, i will get back to you.
Kind Regards
Irene (Skipmyre GSDS)
Mike Jacki Lauren Jason

Was nice talking to you today, and cant say how happy you made me. Looking forward to all the photos.
thankyou once again. will stay in touch
Hi Stephen & Karen,
Thank you for you good wishes,

Stephen and I have just read your news about Kassie and Woody, 'Congratulations' we are really pleased everything is going well, we are looking forward to visiting the pups when they are ready with our family as we discussed on the telephone. We are even more happy to hear that all is going well with Tia and Woody for the Summer time and look forward to future updates.

Hi
Hi irene & Neil,

Please email or phone anytime, even just for a chat.

Irene
Anyway I enjoyed looking.
vivian Fitzsimmons
Hi Nikki,

Hi Irene
I would just like to say that i loved your page, and your dogs are gorgeous. My husband and i are hoping to provide a home for GSD puppy, when we move home. This wont be until early next year but i would be grateful if you wouldnt mind keeping my details on hand when the time comes for us to provide a puppy with a forever home, maybe even in in the next coming months (hopefully the weather will have improved, that we may arrange a visit with yourselves and the dogs.

hi there, i havebeen looking through your website and am interested in your new litter for spring 2011, your knowledge and experience is wide and is fully commendable. we lost our german shepherd to cancer 6 months ago, following chats with the family we feel the time is right to consider the possibility of getting another, some time this year. we have looked at the possibilty of other breeds of dog but are always drawn back to the GSD. when do you think you would have pups available this year and would it be possible to arrange for me and my family to visit? look forward to your reply, many thanks Stephen McCreadie
Hi , Tia and you two,
A massive thanks from both Tina and I for you letting us have Harvey!
We will see you in a few weeks
xxx
Jen
Hi Irene and Neil

Hi Irene,
Myself and Dean would just like to say a HUGE thank you to you and Neil. Indy is settling in just fine and is so well behaved which is all down to you. He is an absolute credit to Skipmyre! It has been such a pleasure not only doing business with you but also meeting you and Neil. We promise that you will be bombarded with loads of photos of Indy as he grows up and don't think that you are going to get rid of us because we're coming back to visit! Thanks so much for all your help, see you all soon.

Thank you for making the whole process easy and pleasureable.
See you soon.

Hi,
Have just accidentally come across your wonderful website and, although I live in Dumfries, must admit I had not heard of you until now.
